My Mission, Values, and Policies

My mission is to leave the world in a better state than I found it in all ways large and small.

To maintain a clear conscience by mindfully and actively “doing right.” To defend and uplift the abused & the downtrodden. More lightheartedly, it is my mission to help create a world which is more joyful & fun for everyone.

My values inform my mission.

These include equality for all people. Dignity for all people. Peace & justice in all places where people strive to live & thrive.

Eradication of poverty, hunger, and homelessness.

Access to effective healthcare. Sustainable energy and a sustainable and healthy whole-Earth ecosystem.

Kindness, compassion and empathy.

Personal action, accountability, & responsibility.

Honesty, transparency, promise-keeping.

Science, art, creativity, exploration & discovery, invention, scholarship, & problem-solving.

Intelligence & articulated Reason. Logic, analysis & synthesis.

Service over self.

Self development & growth.

Integration of self and community as in “ubuntu,” “e pluribus unum,” & “right livelihood.”

My policies are congruent with my mission and values.

I speak truth to power. I have little respect or tolerance for those without a viable moral code. I do not abide profit-over-people, detrimental exploitation of people, coercion, dishonesty, abuse of power, exclusionism, information withholding, or service of self over the whole of community & humanity.

I will NOT consciously or in good conscience, directly or indirectly do harm to others or take money from any employer to do so.

More concretely.

I am an anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-genderist, diversity advocate and strive at all times to become consciously non-bigoted.

I am an environmentalist.

Right Livelihood.

I abide the Buddhist principle of Right Livelihood. In brief this means I aspire to ONLY do work (voluntary or for income) which is consistent with that which is healthy, right, and good to & for other people and to & for myself. I will only do work which uplifts others and myself. I will not enable those who do harm to the world by working for them, taking their money, being silent, or by otherwise contributing to the furtherance of agendas which harm humans beings or the earth.
